New stuff
It’s been a while since I updated this so here’s a whole lot of new stuff in no particular order!
First up I have a new Giclee art print available, “Pishin Doon” - A Scottish phrase for when it couldn’t possibly be raining any harder. I’m quite fond of the scratchiness of this one.
Chip Scramble, a watercolour print of three pigeons eating chips from a discarded newspaper poke.
The original watercolour is up for sale in the shop, and greetings cards and art prints available too.
The term Scramble is an old Scottish wedding tradition. After the ceremony as the couple are leaving, the groom (or brides father) throws a handful of coins on the floor and children then 'scramble' for them. It is believed to bring good fortune to the happy couple and to the local kids, who would wait outside for just this occasion.
Next up I have a digital painting of the famous neon sign of The Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, Scotland.
I used digital paintbrushes to recreate the neon glow and add a nice painterly touch to this one.
A prominent feature of the music scene in Glasgow, the venue has appeared in various elements of popular culture, notably tracks by Amy Macdonald and Simple Minds.
Last up a search bar has been added to the shop. I initially didn’t add one as the Squarespace search really is awful when I tested it, but there doesn’t seem to be any plans for them to update this any time soon and I don’t want anyone to not be able to search for a specific thing, so it’ll have to do for now.
Let me know what you think about all this new stuff, till next time,
Lee
