"This was my first time commissioning art online, so I was a bit hesitant at first. Overall, the project was a good experience, and I would recommend this artist to others. Lee was willing to work independently when asked to do so but also graciously received any instructions or changes I wanted to have made along the way. There's really something special about seeing something that existed in your imagination come to life in color on canvas. While I have not met him in real-life, Lee strikes me as a genuinely kind person who is passionate about making art. Although I cannot speak to other artists out there, with Lee you'll definitely get good quality work at an affordable rate."

*“I was lucky to find Lee McGuire on line, and follow up with a commission for a science fiction book cover. His rates are reasonable and his artistic skills and talents are outstanding. I had a picture in my head from my novel that I wanted him to duplicate and he produced an awesome picture that was exactly what I desired. The process of producing the picture was easy and effective for me the client. He started with a rough sketch and he followed my instructions exactly, sending new drafts as the picture developed. He was easy to work with and anxious for advice. The final product was great! I recommend him highly.” *

"I hired Lee McGuire Art to design the cover for the sequel of my sci-fi time-travel book. I had seen his work on his website and was convinced he could come up with an illustration of a time machine that looked real. Not only did he do an awesome job on that he also drew in detail the basement lab where the machine was hooked up. That was over and beyond what I had expected.
Afterward, Lee worked with me every step of the way to make the cover fit the KDP guidelines for paperback and Kindle.
I love my cover and I highly recommend him for any artwork needing to be done."

Hello there, I’m a self-taught full-time illustrator from Scotland. I create original artwork & art commissions.

Here’s a little more about my life and what I do:As early as I could remember, I loved to draw! I was the kid always getting in trouble in class for doodling. Naturally I wanted to go on to
study this in University. That plan got put on hold when one night as I was waiting for the last train home I was assaulted. My skull was broken in three places around my eye and jaw. After multiple surgeries I was left with permanent double-vision to this day. It took me 8 years to pick up a pencil again.Once I felt mentally and physically ready, I began a few years of practising and honing my art skills before starting my professional art career in 2017, simply by being commissioned for the odd portrait for family and friends.
Business quickly grew as people loved the results and recommended my artwork to their friends. I began advertising online, found lots of interested clients and started shipping my commissions worldwide, to Europe, America, and even Australia! I quit my retail job the very next day and now work full-time as a freelance artist!Currently my days revolve around commissions, dog walks, art studies and creating original art. I work from home so I can have my “muse” close by for constant inspiration, meet Sam the West Highland Terrier:

Thanks for visiting,
Lee.P.S. Here’s what a typical day looks like in the studio (I threw the ball immediately after the photo!)
